Benitachell Information
The main activities of the Help of Denia volunteers are centred on Denia Hospital. At the local level, the team of volunteers living in Benitachell are also involved in supporting those living in their area and adjacent locations with advice, information and practical assistance where possible. The working language of the group is English but interpreters are available. Practical assistance is provided by the loan of mobility aids; wheelchairs, walking frames, arm crutches etc. which are held in Benitachell. Other items are held at our shop in La Xara. Also available are the range of services as detailed under the Help of Denia home page. In particular, for those living in the 03726 Benitachell post code area we have set out details of various entities involved in providing the infrastructure within the area. These lists, whist believed to be accurate, do not constitute a recommendation from Help of any one person or organisation. If a particular service is, to the best of our knowledge, unavailable within the Benitachell postal areas we have tried to give that which is nearest. The Town Hall is trying to arrange for an additional, English speaking, doctor to work from our Salud. To qualify for a second doctor a further 297 local residents are required to register with the Salud. If you know of any eligible people who have as yet not registered please ask them to register, even if they have private health insurance. Not only does the Spanish health service get an annual payment in respect of every UK national who holds a SIP card. Those who have a SIP card have the right to use the national Spanish health service. UK state retirement pension holders can also have their spouses covered as dependents and are also able to obtain their prescription medicines at a greatly reduced cost.
The Benitachell Salud is now open 1 hour each Saturday and Sunday between 11:00 and 12:00, with a nurse in attendance for injections, between 11:00 -11:30 and dressings between 11:30 - 12:00.
