HELP OF DENIA CONSTITUTION
1. OBJECTIVES
HELP exists to:
- to provide neighbourly assistance to all nationalities in cases of emergency
- to provide for the translation needs of non-Spanish-speaking persons in cases of need
- to provide cars with drivers for transporting patients to medical facilities
- to provide bed-sitters for the ill
- to provide shoppers for the housebound
HELP DOES NOT:
- provide long-term assistance to the chronically ill
- give advice on legal, financial or property problems
2. MEMBERSHIP
HELP Volunteers shall be those persons who have completed the Group's application form. They are entitled to attend and vote at Group meetings.
3. ADMINISTRATION
The Group shall be administered by a committee of nine, comprising Chairman, Vice-Chairman, Secretary, Treasurer, Handbook Secretary, Fund-Raising Secretary, Equipment Officer, and two Ordinary members.
The Committee shall be elected annually at the Annual General Meeting, which shall be held during the month of March. Notice of the Annual General Meeting shall be sent to all Volunteers at least two weeks before the date of the Meeting.
The Committee may fill any vacancy that occurs during a year, and may co-opt additional members for special purposes as they consider desirable.
4. FINANCES
The Treasurer shall record all incomes received and expenditure incurred by the Group. The Group's financial year shall end on the last day of February, and the Treasurer shall present a Statement of Accounts at each Annual General Meeting for the previous financial year.
5. MEETINGS
Persons other than Volunteers may be invited to attend meetings, but only Volunteers shall have the right to vote at meetings.The Committee shall arrange for the Annual General Meeting, and at least one other meeting of all Volunteers to be held each year. They shall call additional meetings if these seem desirable, or on the written request of ten or more Volunteers. Such a request must state the business to be discussed at the meeting.
