Use the following link to Consular details and to check the content below:https:/www.gov.uk/government/world/organisations/british-embassy-madrid/office/british-consulate-alicante
The major part of the Consulate's work relates to accidents, deaths, arrests, and the imprisonment of British tourists, missing persons, emergency passports, and provision of financial advice and assistance to tourists who have had money and/or credit cards stolen.
The main service for residents is the acceptance of standard passport applications and renewals.
They will send a form for you to fill in and either return it to them or directly by post to Madrid.
In the matter of care in the community, the Consulate can help:
(i) by contacting families in the UK to see if they can help with care costs.
(ii) by liaising with UK local authorities who may be able to accept a returning resident for care
(iii) by seeking top-up funds from UK charities for residential or domiciliary care.
(iv) by liaising with Spanish local services and local British welfare groups.
Opening hours to the public are 0800 to 1400 Monday to Thursday - Fridays only until 1330.
