Fundraising
As you know fund raising is a very necessary activity on behalf of our HELP Organisation and is vital if we are to carry on with the good works which after all is our raison d’être.
You have previously been advised of some of the forthcoming events which have already been organised for this year and I don’t apologise for reminding you once again of the dates on which they will take place together a few items we have added. They are as follows:

| 8th May | Fund Raising Walk |
| 23rd May | Jalon Valley Help (a stand) |
| 27th June | CBBA Golf competition, dinner and auction at Oliva Nova |
| 3rd July | Quiz at Orange Grove |
| 21st July | Pego Golf Society summer barbecue (we run a tombola) at Monte Pego |
| 4th December | Christmas Fayre |
I for my sins appear to have been ‘volunteered’ and have been given the responsibilities for carrying on the fund raising work albeit assisted by Bernadette Dunster and Vicky Stafford.
We are a little late in updating our web site, but hope you enjoyed the events which have already passed.
Fun fund raising quiz went very well, and my thanks to all who “had a go” and contributed your €1 donation.
Denia Feria was unfortunately hit by the bad weather.
Fund Raising Walk, the turnout was not as many as previous years, so we hope for better things next year.
Jalon Valley was its usual success.
We recently appealed to members to come forward with any further ideas you may have which would produce additional funds. As a result of this we are working on several ideas:
Dinner dance at Venta de Posa
Quiz lunch (i.e. 1 course meal)
Summer picnic
Fashion show (goods from shop and selling sale in La Xara)
I assure you we are ever mindful of the need not to overdo all of this. I know very well that it is usually the same people who are called upon not only to offer help but also to subscribe. I feel however that the social activity generated by these events will be to a large extent compensate for the ‘nitty gritty’ involved in fund raising. I now look forward to a successful year.
