| CARING TOGETHER | an NGO working throughout the Costa Blanca to promote and provide palliative care (and support for carers) as patients near the end of life, (whatever the disease or nationality of the patient may be). Many patients would prefer to spend their last days at home and we’ll do our best to make this possible. Sometimes families are glad we are here when the principal wage earner, often self-employed, is the victim of a terminal disease. We are willing ready to offer SCHOLARSHIPS to existing professional carers for further training at whatever level – be they auxiliaries, nurses, doctors or consultants. Students in the final year of their education are also eligible for this help – to add Palliative Care to their skills after they qualify. New statutes approved by the Ministry of Justice in June 2009 authorise this.
