Noel Cowards 'Cowardy Custard' at Careline Theatre
Footlights are giving a fund raising performance of Noel Cowards 'Cowardy Custard' on Friday September 17th with profits to Jalon Valley HELP.
Doors open at 7pm and the show starts at 8pm in the Careline Theatre in Alcalali and it is sponsored by Careline.
Tickets are on sale from Monday 2nd August from the Alcalali HELP shop priced at 10€ The shop is in c/de Mig opposite Rosanna's Bakery/Tearooms and is open Monday to Saturday from 10am to 1pm.
When Footlights performed this show in Moriara it sold out and left unhappy theatregoers without tickets. It was therefore decided to do it again for such a worthwhile cause.

A recent quiz night at the popular Terrace Bar in Jalon,organised by Peter and Christine Elmore, raised 100 euros donation to the Jalon Valley HELP funds.
Peter and Christine kindly donated 2 prizes and local couple Maureen and Graeme Quirk were delighted to win the 1st prize of a complimentary supper for two at the Terrace Bar, which was generously donated by John Curtis, pictured here with wife June and the happy prize winners.
Jalon Valley HELP are always grateful for the support we get from local businesses like the Terrace Bar, who give their time and more to put funds our way, which we in turn use to benefit the Community.
Jalon Valley HELP Bridge Afternoon
A fund raising Bridge Afternoon was held on Sunday 20th June at the home of Peter and Jill Thompson. Peter is the Chairman of the Pacquitas Club which meets regularly at El Cid in Benidoleig. Altogether 20 people played bridge and the proceeds from this, the refreshments and a raffle raised a total sum of 387€ This was presented to Jalon Valley HELP President, Josie Lucas and Secretary, Jean Farrimond who attended the afternoon event.
The photo shows the cheque being presented to Josie Lucas who accepted it on behalf of the charity thanking everyone for attending and so generously supporting the work Jalon Valley HELP does in the local community.

Jalon Valley Help are pleased to advise that this year they raised 4,150 euros at their fundraising May Fayre. Many thanks to all volunteers and supporters who came along on the day and made the event the success it was.
